Pokhara College of Astrology (Brief introduction)

Rishi Programme is a study of original texts and examples of important personalities or buildings is done. A revision of the basic course is also done. The practicing astrologers, Vastu specialists or Palmists who are desirous of strengthening their knowledge may take admission in Rishi Programme. The minimum requirement for Jyotish Rishi is Jyotish Shastracharya or equivalent or 3 years experience in astrology.

Practising Vastu specialists or those who have done Vastu Shastracharya, one may join Vastu Rishi. Similarly, after Samudrik Shastracahrya or practicing Palmist may join Samudrik Rishi.

For research in astrology, admission may be taken in Jyotish Maharshi. For this requirement is Jyotish Rishi or 5 years experience in astrology.

For research in Vastu admission is offered in Vastu Maharshi. For this vastu Rishi or 2 years experience in Vastu is essential.

For research in Samudrik Shastra students may take admission in Samudrik Maharshi. The desired qualification for admission is Samudrik Rishi or 2 years experience.

Fee Structure of Pokhara College of Astrology course: The fee for various courses are -

For Astrology, Vastu or Samudrik Shastra:-

1. Jyotish Ratna 3000/- ic or equivalent
2. Jyotish Bhushan 3000/- ic or equivalent
3. Jyotish Prabhakar 3000/- ic or equivalent
4. Jyotish Shastracharya 3000/- ic or equivalent
5. Jyotish Rishi 4000/- ic or equivalent
6. Jyotish Maharshi 5000/- ic or equivalent

Time, period of courses: Each course will be completed in 6 months. Out of this last 2 classes are meant for examinations. Few classes are earmarked for discussions and invited guests. According to the syllabus time duration of classes may be reduced or extended.

Duration of courses: Basically each course will be of one semester of 6 months. The classes will be of 2 hours on Saturday and Sunday or any other day as decided by the college.

All courses are available on short term duration also. These will have classes for three to four days in a week and will be completed in 3 months. The students desiring to learn astrology quickly may choose these short term courses. The syllabus and total hours of studies are same for long term and short term courses.

All Maharshi programs are of 1 year duration. The duration of program may be more or less depending on the completion of research.

For the sake of convenience of students, classes may be organized in the evening. Contact the college for details of days, time and the courses offered.

Course Material: The desired study material will be provided to every student by the center. Required text book will be given to students. Additionally students will be given horoscopes in astrology courses or a compass etc. in vastu course.

A list of additional recommended books will be given to you whom you can purchase from the market.

Examinations: The examinations will be conducted at the end of semester. Each course shall comprise 2 papers. It is essential to secure minimum 33% marks in each paper. Minimum 50% marks are required in aggregate. Only then students will be issued a certificate.

The unsuccessful students may sit in examinations in the next semester after paying additional examination fees of Rs. 500/- IC or equivalent.

In Rishi course one has to write detailed analysis of an example problem and a thesis on comparative study of two or more texts on a given subject. It is necessary to obtain minimum 33% marks in each and minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.

For Jyotish Maharshi, the viva voce examination for thesis will be conducted by an expert of that area and his decision will be final for approval of thesis. Completeness and new ideas will be the deciding factors.
Attendance: Minimum 70% attendance is compulsory for appearing in the examination. In special circumstances the decision of the college chairman will be final.

Language: Every course will be conducted in Nepali, Hindi, English and regional language.

The study material will also be provided in same language. If due to some reason the text material is not available in regional language then the students may opt for Nepali, Hindi or English texts. However the student can write in regional language in examinations.

Additional Information: Normally, all the informations given in this news paper are applicable to all the chapters affiliated with All India Federation of Astrologers Societies, New Delhi. However few chapters may change coaching days, duration, time or place. For this kindly contact the Chapter chairman.

Identity Card: All the students will be issued a photo Identity-card after full payment of the course fee.
Short Courses: There will be short courses of 1 to 4 week or 8 to 20 hours duration in the following disciplines as per the convenience of the chapter.

Contact the Chapter Chairman to know which course is being started, when the examinations will be conducted on completion of the course. Fee for each course is Rs. 1000/- only in Indian currency or equivalent to that. Study material will be provided by the college and federation and a certificate of participation will be issued on completion of the course.

The correspondence course: If you desire to study any course by correspondence, you may directly contact any nearest chapter of the Federation as well Pokhara College of Astrology, Nepal. All the above programmes are available through correspondence also.

The admission fee to any course is Rs. 3000/- Indian currency or equivalent for Jyotish Ratna, Jyotish Bhushan, Jyotish Prabhakar and Jyotishacharya, while it will be Rs. 4000/- for Jyotish Rishi and Rs. 5000/- for Jyotish Maharshi. The answer sheet for question papers of correspondence course has to be submitted with the chapter. After securing minimum 50% marks in these, the examinations for correspondence courses will be held along with regular course examinations at the chapter. Minimum 50% marks are essential for passing the examination. After passing the examination certificate will be issued.
